Job Summary:

  • Leads and participates in projects to further improve existing Quality Systems and Processes
  • Assist with creation of Medical Operations, Quality and Regulatory SOPs, Guidelines, Training Documents and similar tools to improve and foster best practice quality processes
  • Understands and provides support for training of employees on the databases and software applications relevant to best practice quality processes or regulatory requirements
  • Participates and advises on MOQR related project improvement teams that are developing new databases and software applications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the databases and software applications relevant to Quality Planning, Systems and Process Designs for Medical Operations, Quality and Regulatory (MOQR) such as MediaLab, SmartSolve, Performance Scorecard, etc.
  • Able to train, and assist in development of training materials laboratory personnel to properly utilize the quality-related databases and software applications.
  • Able to train, laboratory personnel to properly implement manual process improvements.  (e.g. review of medical reports during User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Assist Support functions such as Logistics, Patient Services, Call Center, Procurement, etc. with training as related to SOPs issued in conjunction with or by MOQ
  • Ensure Medical Operations Quality and Regulatory SOPs and other controlled document meet regulatory and Quest Diagnostics standards
  • Participate and advise on a MOQR project improvement teams that are developing or enhancing database or software applications
  • Escalate  feedback obtained via conversation, surveys, analysis of metrics, RQI, Proficiency Tests, and MQA audits to suggest improvements to existing Quality Systems and Processes
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.

  • This position will have no direct reports

Qualifications:

Education Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science or related field required

• Qualification as General Laboratory Supervisor as defined by CLIA ’88 - desired

• Certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry (ASCP) – desired

• Certification by American Society for Quality (ASQ) - desired

Work Experience:

• At least two years successful employment in a Quality Assurance role - preferred

• Experience in writing technical documents such as policies and procedures – required

• Experience with Quality Assurance and laboratory regulations/accreditation requirements – desired

• Experience with quality event analysis – desired

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Long periods of concentration

• Must frequently respond to text/email communications and will be required to be aware of ergonomic principles
