This is an on-site role based at our corporate headquarters in Secaucus, NJ.

SEO/Location Specialist, the role:

The SEO/Location Specialist supports the development and execution of a corporate SEO strategy. This professional will assist the Digital team and team of Marketers with leveraging our SEO tool (SEM Rush) to establish baseline metrics and measure progress over time against established goals. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor, providing best practice guidance to your colleagues to drive adoption of SEO optimization across digital projects. The successful candidate will bring their mindset for critical thinking and a passion for leveraging data, search trends, and analysis to drive the success of the corporate website, Quest’s portfolio of microsites, web applications and native applications.

We are looking to launch SEO programs to elevate our website and digital efforts. This includes expanding our use of SEO best practices, so we can generate optimal traffic, and understand how SEO/content is contributing to companywide and campaign KPIs, such as reducing call volume, impacting online conversion rates, and driving lead volume. The Specialist will leverage their previous SEO experience to analyze our content and identify areas to optimize and ultimately improve content performance against SEO KPI’s.

The Specialist will also have responsibility for ensuring that our testing and office location data is kept up-to-date and optimized for SEO and for the customer experience, and to develop a process to improve business operations based on feedback obtained from online customer reviews of service at our locations.

The Specialist will play a key role on the Digital Marketing Strategy team, which is currently engaged in a redesign of QuestDiagnostics.com, as well as owning the SEO optimization of the site, and the underlying web Content Management System (CMS) on an ongoing basis. Previous experience with web site redesigns, developing SEO strategies, SEO content audits and maintenance are a plus.

The position requires the ability to drive effective collaboration between internal business partners and IT resources. This is not an IT position; it is a Marketing position.

The position reports to the Director, Digital Marketing.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a corporate SEO strategy.
  • Establish processes to ensure that location data remains accurate and is optimized for SEO.
  • Work with Web Content Section Owners to lead SEO KPI evaluations plus develop and manage SEO strategies that include keyword research, search behavior analyses, technical audits, content gap analysis, URL strategies, link building, competitive research, and reporting to increase rankings, inbound links, and organic traffic.
  • Manage SEM Rush; configure the tool to measure baseline data and progress against that baseline over time.
  • Review technical SEO issues and recommend enhancements as needed to improve performance of web sites.
  • Develop and maintain on-page optimizations, including title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, image alt tags, body copy, as necessary based on page content and targeted keywords.
  • Provide SEO support for new site launches and/or site sunsets to minimize impact on search rankings, including redirect maps, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, and Robots.txt files.
  • Collaborate with internal Analytics, Strategy, Creative, UX, and Dev teams to implement SEO strategies.
  • Be a source of knowledge for all things SEO proactively sharing ideas and recommendations to the rest of the business. Stay up to date with SEO and digital marketing trends, search engine algorithms, and where SEO is heading.
  • Support building the right internal SEO stack that support scale and growth of the SEO program.
  • SME on Schema markups, scaling on-page content with UGC, Mobile SEO etc.
  • Distribute data from online reviews to the regions and measure impact of efforts they make to improve service, etc.
  • Create SEO dashboards to report on KPIs for clients and in-house agency teams.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s in marketing, Business, Advertising, Communications or other related discipline, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing, including SEO strategy, development and management.  
    Expertise in SEO split testing and other testing methods
  • Knowledge of digital publishing, editorial content, and an understanding of technical SEO.
  • Knowledge of organic search and how SEO activities influence search engine ranking algorithms.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
  • Strong SEO, web content and auditing skills and experience required with a proven track record.
  • Experience with SEO best practices, and technologies (such as SEM Rush) is a requirement.
  • Fully proficient with various software programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
