Job Description

RFP Analyst - Chantilly, VA - Monday - Friday

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for administrating the SalesForce.com bid request workflow, vetting bid requests, and responding to RFIs/Health Plans Attestations and Credentialing requests. Will actively support other members of the RFP team by overseeing and maintaining the web-based database of standard proposal language; developing work plans for RFP response timelines; and creating proposal templates.  Will serve as a back-up to the RFP Lead and have interactions with various departments within the laboratories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•            Triages requests for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses from field representatives to ensure all information required to formulate a proposal is provided

•            Performs preliminary assessments of RFPs/RFIs/RFQs to ensure the company participates in only profitable, viable, and appropriate bidding opportunities

•            Responds to RFIs and addresses Health Plan Attestations and Credentialing requests by utilizing laboratory- and corporate-level data and obtaining appropriate feedback and approvals from legal and business leaders

•            Establishes and maintains web-based database of standard proposal response language, assures that all information is reviewed and validated by SMEs, and ensures that language is in line with Quest Diagnostics’ policies for external communication protocols

•            Develops a comprehensive project work plan defining response timelines and submission requirements for each assigned RFP and RFQ

•            Identifies legal, business, and operational contract terms included in RFPs and RFQs, and engages the Contracts team as necessary

•            Prepares response template for each assigned RFP/RFQ based on the customer’s specific requirements and by utilizing standard proposal language

•            Performs quality control check on proposal drafts (i.e. editing, formatting)

•            Assumes primary responsibility for all tasks associated with print production of client-ready proposal packages

•            Serves as the backup to RFP Leads as needed

•            Key accountabilities and metrics include assuring bid opportunities are properly reviewed and vetted; assuring all RFP/RFQ response templates are completed by the due date set by the customer; and assuring all RFI, Health Plan Attestations, and Credentialing request responses are submitted on time

•            Identify potential bid opportunities by monitoring various government and private website tools.

Supervision Exercised: 



Education Preferred:      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

Work Experience:           5 years professional business experience

Healthcare industry experience a major plus

Other:   Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills required

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects
