Job Summary: 
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will act as both a customer service representative and a call center associate.  You will conduct vital discussions on behalf of four of the five largest managed care plans in the US and complete appointment scheduling.  In addition, you will be responsible for customer service and contact center duties as assigned by the direction of a Patient Care Supervisor and Lead. This position is ideally suited for a self-motivated and career-minded individual that is seeking full-time position, a strong start in the healthcare industry, and is excited by beating performance and quality standards in order to best serve the customer. 
This position has the following full-time shifts available: 
Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm CST 
Monday – Friday from 10:00am to 7:00pm CST 

Responsibilities and duties: 
Manage a substantial amount of inbound and outbound calls daily. 
Develop open and effective channels of communication with each provider and member. 
Ability to adhere to written scripts. 
Possess excellent listening and oral communication skills. 
Schedule telephonic calls following preapproved scripts and guidelines provided. 
File documents and records and maintain a tracking system for quick data retrieval 
Set appointment following instructions provided by Physicians and Contracted Health Plans. 
Maintain and update records as to the status of phone calls with patients. 
Follow up with Physicians and other medical professionals. 
Respond to e-mails, IM’s and Voice mail promptly and professionally. 
Take appropriate action to ensure compliance company policy and procedures, standards of conduct, and with state and federal rules, regulations and laws. 
May be assigned special projects or other assignments and work tasks to assist the Department Lead, Manager/Supervisor in the operation of the department. 
Perform related duties as required. 

Requirements: 
High School Diploma or equivalent 
Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role; preferably in an outbound call center or contact center 
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, including the ability to follow a written script, submit comprehensive summary reports and other written materials. 
Organize and maintain extensive records, research and compile information, and have ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
Strong technical aptitude to not only operate standard office equipment but also relevant software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other applications. 
Plan, organize, prioritize, and perform duties in accordance with department policy and procedure as assigned with minimal supervision. 
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and all levels of staff and management. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 
Requires vision (which may be corrected) to read small print. 
Requires mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects. 
Performs lifting, pushing and/or pulling which does not exceed 25 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job. 
Subject to inside environmental conditions. 
May be required to work at a video display terminal for prolonged periods.
