LIMS Builder, the role:

As a member of the Quest Diagnostics Bioinformatics team you will work closely with other Bioinformatics and laboratory staff to develop, test, and deploy workflows for our laboratory informatics system (LIMS) that automate high throughput laboratory processes commonly used for genetic testing.

This professional can work remotely.

Job responsibilities:

•         Build clinical grade workflows, using a laboratory informatics system, that automate processes commonly used in clinical laboratories for genetic testing

•         Work closely with bioinformatics engineers and lab scientists to gather and implement requirements for the workflow builds

•         Build dashboards and reports that integrate with the LIMS functions

•         Provide troubleshooting expertise and support for all LIMS activities and end users including instrument interfaces

•         Support testing and documentation of workflows

•         Aid in providing hands-on, individual and group training(s)

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

•         B.S. in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of experience

•         Familiar with typical workflows and lab instruments used for molecular genetics testing, such as Hamiltons, Tecans, Qiasymphony, etc.

•         Demonstrated ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with laboratory personal and R&D scientists

•         Experience with building dashboards and reports

•         Good working knowledge of MS Excel or similar

•         Some knowledge of Java Script and relational databases

•         Some knowledge of Python

•         Demonstrated ability to innovate
