Basic Purpose:
In this vital role
you will drive the identification, implementation, and enhancement of modern
technologies for all Quest locations and enterprise IoT strategy, collaborating
with business and technology customers to identify and understand, assess, and
compose requirements. An IoT architect
sorts through all the data transmitted between networks from the various Lab
Instruments and Devices used across the Quest Enterprise. They are responsible
for creating and communicating the IoT concept, message, and architecture. They will be the
overall lead in providing IoT standards, best practices, roadmap, and strategy
for our broad range of Lab instruments and devices across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Spearhead development of the IoT vision and technical strategy
-Responsible for the Design of an end-to-end IoT architecture
-Lead the overall design and development of Quest IoT Solutions for the Lab instruments and the rest of the enterprise devices
-Collaborate with business leads to help develop a technical vision for the entire ecosystem as well as lead implementation teams all the way through post-production
-Provide input into final decisions regarding hardware, network products, system software and security
-Responsible for the design discussions with Instrument vendors and provide strategic direction that helps Organization gain efficiencies
-Build IoT solutions, in a unique combination of – web applications (.Net, Java and JavaScript related), databases, machine learning, augmented reality, cloud connectivity (Azure, Amazon), industrial protocols, mobile apps (Android, iOS)
-IoT solution architecture development in healthcare
domain is important
-Coming up with IOT, Industry 4.0, and Industrial
Analytics solution architectures, technologies, and approaches to exploit
current competencies and offerings and to evolve a digital strategy that
enables end-to-end solutions across a wide variety of use cases in Quest
Enterprise
-Interacts with Enterprise Architecture and other
engineering, data science and IT teams to get strategy accepted, and
architecture leadership to obtain solution approval. Outside of
organization, it is required to interact with standards bodies, vendors,
and partners in evaluating and selecting the right technology platforms for
a given use case
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and communication or equivalent.
Work Experience:
-At least 9 years’ experience with IoT technologies and services
-At least 9 years’ experience with cellular networks, specifically LTE, and knowledge and/or ability to develop 5G expertise
-Deep understanding of the end-to-solution components and capabilities for IoT, and experience in defining solution architecture and functional specification of the components
-Deep understanding of IoT Platforms’ needed capabilities and services, and experience in defining architecture and functional specification
-Deep understanding of operational challenges in managing IoT devices at large scale
-Deep understanding of 3GPP LTE networks and impact of IoT service categories. Knowledge of the 5G evolution is highly desired.
-Understanding of API among system components
-Understanding of LPWAN technologies and solutions architecture, e.g., LoRA, is desired
-Understanding of, and preferably working experience with. OMA-DM and LWM2M for device management over the air is highly desired
-Very good understanding and preferably architecture or hands-on working experience with containerized and hypervisor-based virtualized web-scale cloud environment
-Understanding and working experience with IoT security, including device certificate management, and key management
-Highly desirable understanding of CoAP, MQT and other protocols
-Desired Understanding and preferably working experience with Zigbee, ZWave, and low power WiFI
-Desired knowledge of MCUs, sensors, SPI and I2C
