Basic Purpose:
The Instructional Designer role is responsible for developing and delivering technologically innovative, engaging education services and support materials based off sound learning principles for the Quest Quanum customers as well as for some internal staff training programs. This involves partnering with Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and peers using consulting skills to perform needs analysis, design the solution, and support corporate-wide training initiatives.  Delivery options may include: instructor led, virtual, eLearning, video, recordings, simulations, etc... The Instructional Designer should also be able to develop online or print-based instructional materials that adhere to internal style and brand guidelines.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    Perform analysis to identify the needed skills, knowledge and information of the Quest Quanum or internal customer base
    Design and develop the appropriate learning experiences for Quest Quanum customers based on adult learning principles and best practices from the field.  These will focus heavily on software product knowledge and may include but are not limited to: rapid-development, video, eLearning, and classroom training.
    Maintain subject matter expertise in assigned Quest Quanum applications.
    Demonstrate knowledge of the workflow and usage of Quest Quanum and Quest internal applications within healthcare facilities.
    Create and maintain on-line eLearning modules and recordings according to system and design changes. 
    Partner with Learning Design peers to effectively contribute to all phases including: content development, delivery, release, support, and evaluation and revision cycle. Conduct and participate in peer reviews.
    Keep abreast of new and developing trends in training and adult learning, new technologies, and emerging innovations and apply them to Learning Design initiatives.
    Deliver training to employees one on one, in a classroom setting, or via web meeting sessions.
    Create instruction that enhances the retention, transfer, and application of knowledge, skills, and attitudes specific to roles, performance, culture, and outcomes.

Qualifications:
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Educational Psychology, or related field preferred and/or sufficient on-the-job experience.
Work Experience:
3+ years of experience with adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development and performance improvement.

Exemplify digital dexterity with technology suites such as:  Adobe Captivate, Lectora, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and Camtasia Studio.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a strong attention to detail.

Experience working in an Agile environment.

Clinical Laboratory or general Healthcare Industry experience preferred.

Experience consulting with clients or business partners to determine the best instructional solutions and/or strategies.

Highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to work with a team as well as independently.
Creative, artistic, and organized.
Basic HTML coding skills preferred but not required.
Basic graphic design knowledge and image editing preferred but not required.
