Position Overview
As a key leadership team member, the Executive Director ensures effective execution of Professional Lab Services (PLS) operations and growth strategies. Responsible for collaboration with business development, marketing, and sales in assessment of key growth opportunities and new value proposition implementation. The ED provides critical hospital segment leadership and insights to corporate and regional partners. S/He ensures engagements are delivered in a reliable, timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner, in order to, enable better hospital partnerships, value creation, and improved patient care.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and expertise in client engagements, proposal development and review, as well as issue resolution
Set the vision and priorities for the operations team across all functions, including project management, procurement, IT, QMS, and implementation
In collaboration with the PLS leadership team, engage with potential clients to present the value of Quest’s PLS offerings
Direct all operations activities to ensure that services are provided on schedule with expected quality and within time expectations for all phases of PLS deals: proposal review/development/finalization, due diligence, modeling, implementation, and QHL improvement projects.
Manage performance and development of the operations leadership team.
Establish clear operations plans and delegate responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities to appropriate team members to maximize impact.
Provide recommendations regarding menu & method rationalization for QHL sites and prospective clients
Build capability within the team to support rapid expansion and enhanced service offerings
Drive the assessment of equipment choice for the hospital market in partnership with Procurement; provide leadership in vendor relations and contract negotiations.
Ensure full execution on service delivery improvement commitments through the QMS and implementation teams
Builds and manages relationships with key internal partners including Regional leadership, Corporate procurement, and Quest Hospital Lab network
Coordinate resolution on QHL issues with Medical/Procurement/Regions/Others as needed
Travel up to 40% nationally
Directly oversee a group of directors and managers who have responsibility in leading their respective team/functional areas.
Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required; Master’s degree in business or related field preferred
Senior operations leadership experience; 10+ years hospital or diagnostic lab experience
P&L management experience
Demonstrated project management and portfolio management skills
Demonstrated Analytical skills and Financial skills
Superior teamwork and influence skills
Proven talent management and development skills
Superior executive influence leadership in a matrix environment
