At Quest Diagnostics, we serve all of the key stakeholders in healthcare, from patients to caregivers to payers and big pharma. We bring important information assets, platforms and partners together, and the Executive Director, Healthcare Analytics – Clinical Trials Program, will lead on behalf of Quest both internal and external teams as we develop, deliver and market innovative services and solutions.
Position Description
The Executive Director will serve as the general manager for a Healthcare Analytics business line, with P & L responsibility. This leader will successfully evolve the business strategy, new product development, go to market plan, commercialize new products, partnerships, maintain current service portfolio, and ultimately grow this new business while increasing operational efficiency. The Executive Director will organize and align strategic priorities with members of the senior leadership team, manage internal communications and messages, and own (or identify owners for) special projects to ensure overall efficient processes and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the integration of new analytics service offerings into the operational landscape to enable Healthcare Analytics to meet sales, growth, and market share objectives
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of solutions and assets against multi-year product roadmap
Set the vision and priorities for the integrated team across all functions, including: Quest functional groups, strategic partners, vendors, and customers
Collaborate with the Healthcare Analytics leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and staff designed to meet growth objectives and exploit new business opportunities
Prioritizes key projects and management of critical issues to ensure attention and focus of the cross-functional team. Facilitates decision making by striving to provide full information at point of decision and by serving as a reliable, trusted and fair channel for all stakeholders. Ensures alignment and timelines support the overall business strategy
Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external; which enable timely, accurate and complete reports on operating conditions
Establish execution plan by customer segment, including quarterly milestones plans for development, launch and promotion of our evolving clinical trials informatics platform
Drive development of the platform and other solution requirements, including product requirements, business case and strategic rationale
Develop strategic relationships to deliver data, subject matter expertise, technology, or market access
Lead planning for pilots and market launch to ensure pricing, reporting, training, advertising/promotion, channel strategies and tactics are in place at introduction
Conduct/participate in market, competitive and customer research to identify needs and trends - including gathering input from the downstream organization – and feed into product plans/offerings, messaging, positioning and pricing
Track and report commercial and solution performance against plan, including customer satisfaction
Provides guidance to the commercial team to support the development of an effective communication strategy for sales effectiveness, customer awareness, and opportunity development
Promote Healthcare Analytics solutions and services at industry events, to prospective customers, and existing customers
Using QMS tools, has strategic oversight of all projects by establishing a reliable, sustainable operating rhythm to the support the leadership team and support teams.
Coordinates strategic meetings, documentation and deliverables.
Sets pace for meeting key timelines, manages expectations and ensures all collateral ready for review
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field is required; Master’s degree in business or related field preferred
At least 10 years of strong operational leadership experience; 5+ years in a senior management role preferred
Experience in a new company/division startup strongly preferred
Prior experience leading or collaborating with product development to develop and commercialize new products and/or services.
Documented experience overseeing life-cycle management and market development and expansion activities.
Experience developing a new business model, and/or building a new organization, is preferred.
Six Sigma background preferred
Experience in working in a joint venture and/or managing partnerships ideal but not required
5+ years’ experience developing informatics related products
Clinical Trials focus:
10+ years clinical trial patient recruitment at either a CRO or Pharma/Biotech firm
5+ years’ experience analytics, bioinformatics or clinical informatics
5+ years’ experience working with patient advocacy groups and/or disease foundation
Successfully demonstrated experience with leading, implementing and deploying new tools and technology
Excellent leadership skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team, external stakeholders and partners
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company mission.
Flexible and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
Ability to work with a wide variety of people internal and external to the organization
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including a high degree of professionalism and personal presence.
Experience working in a matrix or complex operating structure
