Job Description

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks Engineer, IT- Test Lead in San Juan Capistrano, CA to, as part of the Solution Delivery and ERP Testing Department, coordinate and supervise day-to-day activities as it relates to a Quality Roadmap / Strategy within the committed timeline and quality standards. Accountable for managing multiple and concurrent highly cross functional and complex testing efforts across multiple applications or application suites on varied technology stacks.  Oversee test estimation, test planning, test development, test execution, and risk impact analysis. Responsible for developing a test strategy that identifies the required test approaches (e.g. manual, regression, automated and performance) and the resources (e.g. people, technology, data) to adequately verify that the project delivers at the expected quality level. Supervise 6-10 onshore team members, including administrative oversight, evaluation, coaching, mentoring, and project assignment allocations management, delegating tasks, and monitoring progress. Assess automation opportunities, automated test scripting, and execution using tools such as HP Unified Functional Tester with a descriptive programming approach using VB script.  Plan the testing activities for projects, including testing scope, artifacts, timelines, and reviews. Coordinate scheduling for system, integration, and End-to-End testing. Communicate with testing partners which includes multiple systems and application development teams. Assess defect impact to the business and proposes workarounds, where appropriate. Track and monitor project test estimate relative to actual testing hours. Ensure Defect Management processes are followed, including logging, reporting, and re-testing of defects. Review the test cases, data, and other artifacts produced within the team for quality standards. Collect, establish, and collate weekly status reports and project metrics for management and stakeholders. Assure quality of test documents and participate in the process of generating metrics related to application quality. Work with onshore and offshore team to get all deliverables on time and with high quality. Provide leadership within engineering teams to identify, reproduce and document software defects. Able to work remotely 90% of the time, must be within regular commuting distance from the worksite.


REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or a closely related technical field. 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Software Testing, including planning and strategy. 4 years of experience: testing in the Healthcare domain; and coordinating a product area test team, including prioritizing tasks and setting and communicating expectations with teams and stakeholders. 2 years of experience automated testing and scripting using HP UFT (Unified Functional Testing) or similar tool. Able to work remotely 90% of the time, must be within regular commuting distance from the worksite.
